Just Breathe

Just Breathe is a series of small paper wall sculptures made in response to working in isolation during this unprecedented time. These small abstract shapes and forms are thoughtfully developed through a series of drawings on the back side of index cards. I remain steadfast in my investigation and interest in the invention of visual imagery to explore the mash-up of curvilinear and rectilinear geometric forms.

At this time of uncertainty and acclimation to the new normal, whatever that may be, mindfulness, and remembering to take a deep breath, what that breath might look like, as a shape, or visual image, is the motivation for this ongoing series. Being mindful and breathing are aspects of this series that I am channeling into the work through color, shape, form physical space and shadow.
