Speed-talk

Speed-talk, a performance, produced a cacophony of artist talks in the format of speed dating. A group of 9 exhibitors had two minutes each to give their artist talk to the viewer seated across from them, switching at two-minute intervals until all participants have heard all of the talks. The result was the sound of 18 voices talking at the same time, overwhelming the space and disrupting the typical format associated with the artist talk. Speed-talk was conceived to activate the space and critique the mindset of artwork being merely decorative in a municipal setting.
